LISTEN: Matt Harvey talks Mets hot play, innings limit, karaoke, Seinfeld, more

New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey (11-7, 2.61 ERA) joined "The Buzz with Jimmy Traina" to talk about his team's red-hot play, his dominance on the mound, whether he or Jacob deGrom should start Game 1 of a playoff series, his relationship with New York fans, his rumored altercation with former teammate Jon Rauch, his new endorsement deal with AXE Hair Prime, the Mets-Yankees rivalry, the Twitter friendship between Jerry Seinfeld and Yoenis Cespedes, his go-to karaoke song, his must-see TV show late at night, Billy Joel and much more.
Among the highlights:
Harvey on Mets 'recent surge:
"I think it started in spring training. Our whole mindset was to win. We did a pretty good job of that the first half. And after the All-Star break, we heard rumblings of trades here and there, but obviously the new additions and what we've done since then has been pretty incredible. Definitely sparked the rest of us, sparked New York. And we're excited about it."
On Mets being in first place:
"It's amazing going to the ballpark when you're winning. Everybody's mindset is to have fun, enjoy it, keep things going. Right now it's fun going out there every day. Can't wait till it's my turn to go on the mound every fifth day. We just gotta keep that going."
On a whether Mets have him on an innings limit this season:
"I have no idea. There's a lot of things that go into that question. I think the doctors, my agent, [GM] Sandy Alderson have all talked about it. They're going to go over what's best, and, obviously, as a player you gotta keep your head down and keep focused and keep with your task at hand. If I start worrying about that and it gets in my head, then my performance may suffer."
On his recovery from Tommy John surgery:
"Everything feels good right now."
On why he got a hair endorsement deal with AXE instead of Jacob deGrom and
"Those guys can both use Pantine Pro V or whatever it is and keep their long hair looking good, but for me it was an easy choice going with AXE. It's going good for me right now."
On if he's ready to start Game 1 of the World Series:
"I think right now that's on our minds. We definitely want to be there. I think we're all ready to start Game 1."
On his go-to karaoke song:
"The Humpty Dance" by Digital Underground.

U.S. Champion John Cena vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins

John Cena vs. Seth Rollins
The stakes have never been as great as they will be at SummerSlam when WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins faces United States Champion John Cena. The winner takes all, and for the first time in WWE history, one Superstar will control both titles.
Amid speculation that the Cenation leader would not be cleared to compete at The Biggest Party of the Summer, Cena accepted (with Daniel Bryan's support) Rollins’ challenge during an appearance on the Aug. 11 edition of WWE Tough Enough.
The U.S. Champion severely broke his nose while competing against Rollins in a July 27 U.S. Open Challenge on Raw. With his title on the line but not Rollins’, the double-tough Cenation leader trumped the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in that match, even after The Architect drove his knee into Cena’s face, breaking his nose and leaving it angled sharply sideways. The injury forced Cena to undergo emergency surgery days later and miss the subsequent weeks’ Raws.
Retribution for a crooked nose and time on the shelf won’t be Cena’s only motivation come Sunday, Aug. 23; Rollins has also continually disparaged the Cenation leader since their match on Raw.
Moreover, a win at SummerSlam would mean Cena’s 16th World Title, tying him with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair for the most World Championship reigns. A loss, however, would signify the end of Cena’s U.S. Championship run. Since dethroning Rusev for the stars-and-stripes title at WrestleMania 31, Cena has welcomed all challengers, and, in doing so, has elevated the already prestigious championship, bringing it almost on par with the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
Not just eager to even the score against Cena, Rollins has stated it is his goal to add hardware — the U.S. Title — to his collection. The Architect is also likely determined to prove he is not a lame-duck champion, as some of his critics suggest. Rollins has repeatedly benefited from outside interference during his title reign, allowing him to retain the championship against the likes of Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton. A win over WWE’s top thoroughbred in the venerable Cena would go a long way toward silencing the doubters.
Which Superstar will leave SummerSlam and Brooklyn as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the United States Champion? Will Cena — arguably WWE’s most reliable big-match performer — make history with another World Title win? Or will Rollins finish what he started on Raw and finally prove himself superior to WWE’s tireless workhorse?
Don’t miss all the action when the two champions stand toe-to-toe at SummerSlam, available live, only on the award-winning  on Sunday, Aug. 23. Don’t forget: This year’s Biggest Party of the Summer is a special four-hour event that begins at a start time of 7 ET/4 PT.

Firefighting stopped at blast site due to 'dangerous goods'

MCexplosion

Firefighting efforts at China's explosion site have been suspended because of uncertainty about the contents and amount of "dangerous goods" in the warehouse which sparked the blasts.
The Binhai New District government in Tianjin city made the announcement on its official weibo page, Reuters news agency reported.
Nearly 300 people are still under observation in hospital following the deadly incident, with 32 critically injured.
Around 1,000 residents have been evacuated to a primary school and supplies including food and water are being distributed.

Twelve temporary monitoring stations have reportedly been set up near the blast site, in Binhai new district, to monitor air quality as hundreds of firefighters battle to beat back the flames.
Authorities in Beijing - around 150km away - have denied rumours claiming clouds of noxious gases were headed for the capital, saying wind direction was pushing the fumes out over the Bohai sea instead.
At a press conference earlier, city officials revealed more than 6,000 people had been evacuated had were expected to be housed in emergency shelters tonight.

China explosions: Huge blasts leave 50 dead and hundreds injured

Pictures have emerged showing the scale of the devastation

It comes as pictures emerge of the devastation caused by the explosions and fires in Tianjin.
Xinhua News Agency identified Ruihai Logistics as the firm which owned the storage unit - and according to a report posted by the Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration in January last year, five of the 4,325 containers checked at the site failed to meet safety standards.

The main problem was inappropriate 'danger' labelling, the report added, but did not go into further detail on the matter.
Ruihai Logistics describes itself as a government-approved firm specialising in handling "dangerous goods", and had been inspected along with four other companies operating in the region.
A nearby metro station was also destroyed
Government-backed newspaper China Daily added that the company's manager had been detained by police, though this information has not been independently verified.Firefighters are still battling to put out the blaze. Officials say until the danger is over, the cause of the blasts - which left at least 50 dead and hundreds more injured - cannot be established.
